Q&A with the Sub Pass Artist Elispri
Q: What were your goals when you decided to accept the job of making our season one subpass? And why did you accept the job?
A: Norcal and Klutch are two of the coolest people out there, my brothers in density at Tungsten Dao and my first friends and collectors in web3, so I was naturally super excited when I was asked to help create a pass for their project.
For me, web3 is all about connecting and helping each other to build something that will hopefully last for generations to come.
Q: What tools did you use to make it?
A: I used Blender and AfterEffects to create the graphics for this pass.
Q: How much time did you spend on it?
A: Going back and forth, testing different possibilities to get the desired effect, it took around a week. I would say 6 days 9 hours 4 minutes and 20 seconds, to be exact 😉
Q: Can you tell us more about you? How long have you been an artist? How long have you been an NFT artist?
A: I have been experimenting with art for as long as I can remember.
Probably since I was 2 or 3 years old, and I could pick up a pencil.
For a long time , I only drew on paper , or painted on canvas, also did a little bit of sculpting , and a little bit of music.
It was only in 2018 that I started going into digital Art. Doing animations then 3D artworks mainly.
Then I discovered NFT in 2021 after the Beeple Sale which made headlines everywhere. So I decided to give it a shot and started minting in Aug 2021.
Concentrating on my craft and following my guts was the best decision I ever made.
I am very grateful to be able to wake up every day and create art, and this is what makes me happy in life.
Q: What is your style in your own words?
A: I try my best not to limit myself , and experiment with everything I can get my hands on.
I am best known as a Professional Memer, and in my opinion, when it comes to memes, the style of the artwork helps boost the memefulness in it.
That's why I believe that it's very beneficial for a meme artist to be able to recreate and master many different styles in order to convey ideas.
That's what I like most about making memes. It's the experimental part of it.
For the most part, I concentrate on doing 3D Art , since memes move very fast , and the timing of memes is very important.
The 3d software allows me to model and convey my ideas more easily than other mediums. That is just a personal preference.
Each artist will go through many different phases during their career, and go through many different styles, but usually end up being known for certain styles that connect with the audience the most.
For now , I am mainly in my 3D Meme Phase, so to describe my current style in a few words i would say
Fun 3D Meme Art.
Q: What inspires you to create?
A: I am definitely inspired by a lot of amazing artists around me. Doing memes that involve other artists is my way of showing appreciation for their art, and also a way for me to observe and learn new techniques.
I am also inspired by memorable events in web3 and i like to create artworks that immortalize those moments.
I would love to look back at those artworks many years from now, and have a nostalgic warm feeling about the early days of Nfts.
Q: What goals do you have as a digital artist?
A: Make people feel something when looking at my art, and leave behind as much Art as possible.
One day I will be gone. Only Art will stay.
I will always try my best to let everyone enjoy my art.
Q: What is coming up for you in the future? Do you have any big projects or releases coming up?
A: As I said, I am now in my Meme Phase , but I definitely want to tap into different projects where I can challenge myself, and learn new things.
New Techniques, New Mediums, New Stories.
Maybe Physicals, Maybe generative Art, Maybe auction houses, I can't really tell where the flow will take me, all I need to do is to continue creating art, spreading art, and connecting with people.
Q: What is the best Alpha or advice you can offer to our ClickCreate Community based on your time in the space thus far?
A: Be Curious and Be Kind.
Ask as many questions as you can, try as many new things as you can to develop your skills, and make as many friends as you can.
Every single person is qualified to achieve their dreams if they put the right mindset and right amount of time and effort into it.
It's not easy , and it may not always go your way, but the goal is to keep moving forward.
And finally, show as much love and compassion as you can to the people closest to you.
On web3 , and especially IRL.
Life is short, time goes fast, have fun, and never miss the chance to do the things you love.
